Get Together at Mom and Tina’s

This is my second time to eat at Mom and Tina’s, the first time was also because of a get together event – a bridal shower party for my friend in their pasig branch (just across SM Hypermart beside tiendesitas). This time we tried the branch in front of the ABS-CBN tower beside Melo’s.  It was a Christmas lunch with my fellow church friends. Christmas has that effect of bringing people together.

We decided to share what each one ordered so we can try different dishes.  And of course, we asked for their best sellers! First we ordered two pastas, the “Baked Chicken Macaroni”  (150php) and the “Chicken Spinach Lasagna” (210php). They were both creamy because of the overflowing cheese and the sauce. Both looked alike and almost tasted the same because of the common ingredient of chicken, the tomato sauce and the cheese. What would differentiate the two is the pasta used and of course the slight hint of spinach flavor in the lasagna. They were both good I think it boils down to your preference. I would rate both dishes an 8 out of 10.

We also ordered the “US Roast Beef” (385php). The beef was good, it was tender. It came together with mashed potato and steamed vegetables. The sauce was just right. I would rate this dish also an 8 out of 10.

Next we had the “Paella Valenciana” (295php). It was what you would expect in a Paella dish. It was good but nothing extraordinary. I would have wanted the rice to be more of that tomato and seafood flavor. I would rate this dish a 7 out of 10.

We also tried their “Fish and Chips” (295php). This dish is my least favorite out of all the dish that we ordered. It was just ordinary. I guess if you are craving for this dish then it could satisfy you.  I would rate this a 6 out of 10.

We also ordered two desserts for sharing. One was  the “Baked Oreo Cheesecake”  It was okay, the cream balanced the oreo cookie/chocolate cookie base. The presentation was really nice. I would rate this a 7 out of 10.

The second one was the “Sugar-Free Mango Cream Pie”. Well, we wanted to order the one that was not Sugar Free but it wasn’t available.  We were definitely not in a diet! Haha I would have wanted the crust to be thinner and more baked and brown.  I would rate this a 6 out of 10.

Mom and Tina’s has that homey-feel and it is perfect for catching up with friends and get-togethers.  Over-all I would definitely come back here, their dishes are tasty and very affordable.
