Out of Town Trips

Out of town trips are fun but at the same time it would really take you out of your strict diet

Lots of temptation with regards to the FOOD that is available.

So what happened to me? Did I give in to temptation? –will answer this at the end of this blog. hahahah

Halloo friends, I’M back from Hundred Islands!!!

I wasn’t able to blog yesterday because there was no wifi in the resort we stayed. Tsk tsk, making me miss telling about how my day went. But anyway I’ll make it up today and will definitely blog about everything that I ate and did.

So Friday night/Saturday around 1am was the start of our bus ride to Pangasinan.I was with one of my bestfriends, Lalaine (Bus seatmates!yeah), Jen(her cousin who is also one of my close friends), some of her other cousins (Debbue, Jameson,Queenie, atsi Mercy),her mom, one aunt and two uncles and the rest of the company employees. We arrived there at the Hundred islands dock location at around 5:30am. We looked around at the souvenir shops and took pictures first because the boat won’t leave until the sun has completely risen/until the sky has cleared up, so that will be around 7-7:30am. There are actually 124 islands, but they just made it/referred to it as just 100. We went to two islands/ the main tourist spots to take pictures and a bit of trekking (only a bit!) One was Governor’s Island (where the infamous PBB teen house is located) and the other one was Quezon Island, named after our late President Manuel L. Quezon and they even built a statue of him in in the island where visitors can also take pictures. After that we went to the resort where we were staying called, Punta Riviera. It’s pretty nice there and we took lot’s of pictures! CAMWHORE.hahah

So after settling down to our rooms, we were supposed to get on the bus after lunch and go land touring around Bolinao, BUT THEY LEFT US!!! We waited in our rooms thinking that they were going to call us once the bus was ready to go. (medyo lang naman VIP kami…hahaha but really this outing is my best friend’s company outing and since her family pretty much owns the company medyo lang naman sana tinawag kami.) anyway we all just ended up sleeping/SIESTA since we were quite tired from the bus ride. After, we woke up at around 5:30 pm, took pictures and went night swimming after dinner. TO BURN WHAT WE ATE!

The following day, medyo fail yung plan naming ng friend ko to wake up early and jog around the beach and go swimming, pagod pa kasi siya, and I didn’t want to go alone so I ended up going back to sleep! WHAHAHHAAH FAIL! Anyway hindi naman fail and diet ko in terms of what I ate! Anyway around 9am we went outside the beach to take pictures

Here are some:

and after lunch we were on our way to Manaoag church for a bit of sightseeing and pasalubong buying.

Arrived home today at around 10pm. Tired but fun!

Here’s what I ate:

YESTERDAY:

Breakfast: Jollibee breakfast meal corned beef, egg and ½ rice( ½ cup lang!) pineapple juice

Lunch: Mixed vegetables, 4 slices of beef and ½ bangus. Grapefruit for dessert.

Merienda: 1 banana and some cashew nuts

Dinner: sinigang soup with 2 pieces of pork, around 1 cup of pinakbet (lahat ng gulay okra, ampalaya, talong and my favorite, kalabasa!)  and ½ grilled tanigue fish. And 1 slice of pineapple and half a slice of mango for dessert.

TODAY:

Breakfast: (medyo napakain ako ng rice dito masarap kasi garlic rice hahahah) 1 cup garlic rice, 2spoonful of scrambled egg, 1 crispy danggit, 2 spoonful of chopped tomatoes and 2 vigan longganisa.

Lunch: 1pc. Fried chicken(take note I didn’t eat the skin!) some beef strips and  squash soup. For dessert I had a banana and around 6 small slices of green mango.

Merienda: ½ chico, 1 tupig(or is it tubig?) the sticky coconut mixed with flour thingy that is cooked in uling and tastes yummy.

Dinner: ½ cup lugaw and 1 bolabola siopao. and 1 banana

So in short, I didn’t really give in to temptation of chips and icecream and halo-halos (ang init pa naman!) but I did eat a bit of white carbs but just controlled portions at least! Hahahah

til the next out of town trip, I’ll be sure to stay in my diet. =)

Ttyl,

Isis

  1. hi Isis! had a blast out of town w/u. I’ll be posting the “food calorie equation” that i personally use to monitor my calorie intake daily. Normally(for women), we burn approximately 1,500 calories a day even without exercise/work-out. Simply say, if you minimize your calorie intake, you may lose weight even without sweating.. but of course, I’d still advice that you exercise with proper diet.

Anyway, here are some tips that you and your readers may take into note when eating FRUITS.

    “PROPER WAY OF EATING FRUITS”
NO FRUITS FOR DESSERT: fruits should be eaten with an empty stomach – one of the main reasons why nutritionist advices us to have fruits / oatmeal for breakfast (full details to follow).
DO NOT MIX FRUITS WITH MEALS: either take the fruit before meal or consume it 2 hours after eating. Fruits are easily digested (and they rot faster) compared to meat and carbs. So if you eat your meal first then have fruits after, it will cause an imbalance in your digestive system which may lead to constipation, bloated/gassy feeling, gastritis and obesity.
NOT ALL FRUITS ARE HEALTHY: this is a common misconception. Not all fruits are beneficial or have a nutritional value (can’t mention them all). Some of the fruits that are a MUST EAT though are Kiwi, Banana, Apple, Berries (blueberry, strawberry), Grapefruit, Prunes, Oranges, Grapes.
FRESH ARE NOT THE SAME WITH ARTIFICIAL AND/OR PROCESSED: media, with the goal of earning, has deceived not hundreds or thousands but millions of people. NATURAL is still the BEST!

    Hope this helps!

    xoxo
    Jen
